How many solar panels do we need to power the whole world ?

It is difficult to give a precise answer to this question because it depends on a number of factors, including the amount of electricity that is consumed globally, the efficiency of the solar panels, and the amount of sunlight that is available in different parts of the world. However, it is estimated that approximately 20-25% of the world’s electricity could be generated from solar power if we were to cover about 48,000 square miles (124,000 square kilometers) of land with solar panels. This is about the size of the state of Virginia in the United States. Of course, this is a very rough estimate and does not take into account the specific characteristics of different regions or the technical challenges of building and maintaining such a large solar power infrastructure.
