After the release of 2022 Hefei NIO day, there are already three SUV models on the NT2.0 platform, ES7, EC7 and the brand new ES8. In addition to the intuitive difference in appearance, the internal configuration and details are also different, which makes many potential car owners very entangled in how to choose.
At present, there is no direct configuration comparison of the three cars on the APP, and the arrangement by third-party media is not complete. In terms of size, ES8 has no suspense. But please note that in terms of trunk volume, ES7 is the largest, even if ES8 puts the third row down, it is still not as good as ES7. In addition, considering that the second row of the ES8 cannot be completely folded down, so if you want to lay a mat in the car to lie down and sleep, there is a high probability that it will not be possible. This will be a choice obstacle for some friends who just need to camp overnight.
The ES7 also uses additional carbon fiber materials for the body-in-white. When I visited the advanced factory in Hefei, I saw a large number of body-in-white on the production line. It is indeed located under the rear seats, covered with a large area of black carbon fiber. Losing weight while increasing strength is also a big consideration. As a person in the non-auto industry, I estimate that this item will be 8,000-10,000 yuan more.

Brother Bin said at the press conference that EC7 is currently the SUV with the lowest wind resistance in the world, even lower than many cars. Although the ES8 is large, after optimization in the later stage, the wind resistance is indeed slightly lower than that of the ES7, but it still cannot resist the disadvantage of being the heaviest. The weight of the three models is not disclosed here, but the magnitude of the three can be seen from the battery life. With an ultra-low wind resistance of 0.23 and a suitable weight, the EC7 is well-deserved to be the SUV with the longest battery life and the fastest acceleration in NIO’s product line so far.

On the basis of the overall structure of the chassis of the three, the flagship ES8 has been upgraded with dual-chamber air suspension, HRS rebound stopper, six-piston calipers and 380mm perforated brake discs. The seat system is also one of the biggest differences between the ES8 and the two 7 models. Not only can it be adjusted in the most directions, but it is also fully functional. The front and rear rows of four seats are fully equipped with heating, ventilation, hot stone massage, and back soothing (softer massage controlled by airbag retraction as a whole). In contrast, the two models of 7 are a bit “shabby” (in fact, they are also very rich), there is no hot stone for massage, and the rear row only comes standard with heating and back soothing.
Coupled with the debut of the ES8 self-developed seat frame, it is expected to solve the regret that some models in the past did not have a perfect seating experience. This reflects the precise positioning of the ES8, an all-round model that serves the driver and passengers attentively. There will probably be an extra cost of 10,000-15,000 yuan.

NIO’s pioneering queen co-driver has evolved again on the EC7 and ES8. It can achieve a zero-gravity posture with one button, and the leg rest is heated. It is estimated to be 3,000 yuan more than ES7.
ES8 continues to take the lead, and the peak power of the audio system has been pulled to 2230W in one fell swoop, and the dynamic response range should be further improved. The N-box entertainment host that can support 4 sets of AR glasses output at the same time is also standard. The total cost of the two is about 10,000 yuan more. What should be noted here is the enhanced head-up display system that all three cars have. According to data, the display area of EC7 and ES8 has been increased to 16.3 inches, which is equivalent to the largest MacBook notebook at present, so you don’t have to worry about seeing clearly. This estimate is more than 2,000 yuan. As for the EP analog sound wave, it was mentioned on ET7, but it has not been updated yet.

Nowadays, many of the domestically produced medium-sized and above SUVs start with 20-inch wheels as standard, and then go up to 21 and 22.
