Biden to Announce Toughest Vehicle Emission Rules This Week On Wednesday

The proposed rules on vehicle emissions by the Biden Administration, in consultation with the Environmental Protection Agency, are set to be the most stringent ever enforced in the United States. If implemented, these regulations would align the nation with other countries that have committed to ambitious targets for reducing emissions in the coming decade.

Automotive News reports that on April 12th, the Biden Administration is expected to announce proposed regulations that will cover the model years 2027 through 2032 and will regulate tailpipe emissions of pollutants such as nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide, and others from vehicles. Additionally, President Biden is expected to unveil regulations for heavy-duty trucks and power plants. The President will also set a goal for half of all U.S. vehicle fleets to be electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2030.
