At the highly anticipated New York International Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric. With advanced safety and convenience features, the small electric SUV boasts an impressive 260-mile range, as estimated by Hyundai.
Since its initial debut in 2018, the Kona electric model has gained significant popularity among the public and media. At launch, it offered the best-in-class range of 258 miles at an affordable price point of under $40,000 in North America. However, with the arrival of newer EVs, such as the Chevy Bolt EUV and Tesla Model Y, with 247 and over 300 miles of range, respectively, the Kona lost some of its momentum.
Hyundai has improved the aerodynamics of their latest design by introducing a sleek nose and tailgate, resulting in a remarkable 0.27 drag coefficient.
