New innovative battery energy storage unit will lead to reduction in demand charges and energy costs for electric vehicle drivers and hosts.
Miami Beach-based Blink Charging Co. (NASDAQ: BLNK) has announced the activation of their new battery storage and DCFC chargers unit at Southport Plaza in Philadelphia, marking the first installation of its kind in the state. The innovative technology allows for efficient energy storage during off-peak hours, reducing costs and grid stress while providing power during peak usage. Supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the project aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles and enhance EV charging infrastructure. Blink plans to expand this solution to 25 sites in Florida, including solar canopies with EV chargers.
