Mullen secures $63M deal with Randy Marion Automotive for 1,000 Class 3 EV Trucks

Mullen Automotive, an up-and-coming electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has secured a major deal with the Randy Marion Automotive Group (RMA) for the purchase of 1,000 Mullen THREE low cab forward (LCF) EV trucks. The $63 million purchase order will see deliveries of the Class 3 vehicles begin in August 2023.

Designed for maximum maneuverability on city streets, the Mullen THREE boasts a turning diameter of just 38 feet and allows for easy upfitting with bodies up to 14 feet long and over 5,800 pounds of payload. Its LCF design also offers more cargo volume within a given overall length.

RMA Fleet Operations VP Brad Sigmon said the company had received “great interest” in Mullen’s commercial vehicles, particularly its Class 3 cab chassis offerings. Meanwhile, Mullen CEO David Michery praised RMA for its leadership in the commercial EV space in the US.

The Mullen THREE is part of the company’s wider commercial EV lineup, which includes Class 1 cargo vans and Bollinger Motors Class 4-6 chassis products. All of Mullen’s commercial vehicles will be manufactured at the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center (AMEC) near Tunica, Mississippi.
