- NIO and Shell have opened first collaboration of NIO EV battery swap station in the Netherlands.
In a significant milestone, NIO and Shell have successfully launched their inaugural EV battery swap station in Europe, two years after announcing their collaborative partnership. With existing swap stations already operating in China, this venture marks their shared commitment to expanding their presence across two continents.
According to NIO’s Weibo account, this inaugural station is situated in Harmelen, Netherlands.
As of now, NIO has established a network of 16 battery swap stations and eight charging stations across Europe.
On August 1, the first integrated Power Charger and Swap station jointly built by NIO and Shell was officially operating in Tongan, Xiamen. NIO and Shell plan to install 100 Power Swap Stations in China by 2025.
