Fisker Plans China Delivery Center Opening in 2023, Commencing Fisker Ocean SUV Deliveries in Q1 2024

Fisker Inc. (NYSE: FSR) is expanding its global presence with plans to open a delivery center in China in 2023. The company aims to commence deliveries of its Fisker Ocean SUV in Q1 2024. Recognizing China as an important growth market for electric vehicles (EVs), Fisker believes its vehicles will be highly appealing to Chinese consumers. The company anticipates setting up production in China as early as next year, potentially increasing its capacity by 75,000 Fisker Oceans annually.

During Fisker’s annual shareholder meeting on June 6, Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker expressed enthusiasm about entering the Chinese market and highlighted China’s significant share of global vehicle sales, with EVs representing a growing segment. Fisker’s unique history, features, and design align well with the premium and affordable luxury segment that is experiencing rapid growth in China.

The company’s leadership team recently visited China to engage in discussions with officials and business leaders in Shanghai. These conversations revolved around collaborations, opportunities, automotive supply chains, logistics, warehousing, and future production development.

The Fisker Ocean SUV boasts a 113 kWh battery pack (106 kWh usable), providing an EPA-estimated range of 360 miles on standard 20″ wheels and tires. In Europe, the Fisker Ocean offers a WLTP range of 707km/440 UK miles on the same wheel and tire configuration, making it the electric SUV with the longest range available in Europe. The pricing for the Fisker Ocean Sport trim level starts at $37,499, while the Fisker Ocean Extreme is priced at $68,999.
